At Dollars To Scholars, financial literacy is about more than just numbers; it’s about empowerment. Since our founding, we’ve taught middle and high school students across Connecticut financial literacy knowledge that will support their confidence and provide tools to make smarter decisions with their money.

Our GROWTH curriculum covers the real-life financial skills that students need most. GROWTH, our guiding acronym, provides students with the following:

Gains - Enhancing gains from the application of financial literacy concepts in the real world

Risk - Understanding the risks that come with making any financial decision

Occupation - Preparing students to understand the financial aspect of occupation

Worth - Assessing the worth of one’s money

Tax - Teaching taxes so students are prepared for additional expenses that lie ahead

How To - Empowering students to continue their financial journey by learning how to do so

The Dollars to Scholars program educates according to this acronym, utilizing short videos with accompanying worksheets. Our curriculum aims to make sense for everyone willing to learn. For more details, see Program

The Dollars To Scholars team has implemented their curriculum through various outlets. We reached students in the AVID programs at Western Middle School and Central Middle School in Greenwich, CT, and saw score increases in a baseline financial literacy test by 40%. Additionally, we saw similar growth with homeschool students through the Evergreen Co-Op.
